Anna Bush is a British painter whose work explores photography, memory and family history. Drawing on found and family photographs, she creates quiet, contemplative paintings that reflect on how images hold stories, emotions and identity.

Her practice is rooted in childhood memories of her grandmother’s photo drawer, filled with photographs that were passed around during family gatherings, each one unlocking stories that might otherwise have been forgotten. Today, Anna transforms these snapshots into atmospheric paintings that exist between documentation and recollection. Influenced by her grandmother’s experience of dementia, her work often includes areas of absence or obscurity, inviting viewers to reflect on memory, loss and belonging.

A graduate of Camberwell College of Arts, Anna’s paintings are held in private and public collections internationally. She has exhibited throughout the UK, including the Royal Academy of Arts Summer Exhibition, and is currently represented by Rise Art.
